Each fall with JA and the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art we co-host Very Special Arts, a day of art-making, music, and fun for our community members with Special Needs. It's one of our very favorite events!
Coinciding with Loblolly Festival on the first Saturday in October, we co-host Heritage Arts Fest, in partnership with the Laurel Rogers Museum of Art. It's a fun morning of arts, crafts, and music on the lawn of the Museum.
Every spring we sponsor the Citywide Art contest, where the winners showcase their art at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art.
From Exhibits at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, to arts classroom programming in our community's schools, and the creation of new musical park downtown, Laurel Arts League sponsors arts programming and events throughout the year.
Every first Saturday in May we host the first family-friendly festival in Laurel. Day in the Park has been a wonderful day of fun, art, music, and community for nearly 50 years, and is the way we raise funds for all of the rest of our programming.
Through our fundraising efforts, the Laurel Arts League is proud to provide financial support to area organizations that align with this mission.
The Laurel Arts League Scholarship program is open to all collegiate students in their junior or senior year attending an accredited institution located within Mississippi or a junior or senior collegiate student from Jones County who is attending an accredited institution outside the state.
The City of Laurel recently received a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission to transform plain traffic control boxes into bold works of art.
