What we do

Established in 1969, the mission of Laurel Arts League is to promote the visual and performing arts in our community. Read on to discover some of the ways we sponsor, encourage, and engage with art all over Laurel and Jones County.

About Our Programs

Very Special Arts

Each fall with JA and the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art we co-host Very Special Arts, a day of art-making, music, and fun for our community members with Special Needs. It's one of our very favorite events!

Heritage Arts Festival

Coinciding with Loblolly Festival on the first Saturday in October, we co-host Heritage Arts Fest, in partnership with the Laurel Rogers Museum of Art. It's a fun morning of arts, crafts, and music on the lawn of the Museum.

Art on Masonite

Celebrating our community's history of innovation, Students from around Jones County submit art to be exhibited created on Masonite panels, donated by the company.

Citywide Art Contest

Every spring we sponsor the Citywide Art contest, where the winners showcase their art at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art.

Sponsoring Arts Programming and Exhibits

From Exhibits at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, to arts classroom programming in our community's schools, and the creation of new musical park downtown, Laurel Arts League sponsors arts programming and events throughout the year.

Day in the Park

Every first Saturday in May we host the first family-friendly festival in Laurel. Day in the Park has been a wonderful day of fun, art, music, and community for nearly 50 years, and is the way we raise funds for all of the rest of our programming.
